Long day care in Tweed Heads
Children’s learning is most effective when it starts at a young age. At Little Grommets Early Learning Centre, we have created rooms and programs to specifically cater to learning at each age group.
We care for children from 6 weeks up to 5 years old. Each of our rooms was designed for children to learn, discover, create and develop their learning and social skills.
All age groups have the use of our specifically designed playgrounds to test their co-ordination, balance, skills and strength. They also have the opportunity to play in our indoor and outdoor areas as part of their routine.
At Little Grommets Early Learning Centre, we offer learning programs based on developing the potential for each child.
Our educators aim to provide real opportunities for children to learn, develop and have fun as they start their learning journey with us.
Learning is based on play, using the child’s interests to expand their play into exploring, discovering and creating. We also develop the children’s social skills through group interaction.
Children are born ready to learn and are interested in the world around them. In the early years their learning and development is crucial.
We are a government approved service, operating all year around. Call us today to check availability.
Nursery—6 weeks to 2 years
Our nursery room is designed to create a warm, homely environment.
We understand that all young children have different routines and needs. Our educators cater to each child’s specific needs such as meal times and sleep times.
At Little Grommets Early Learning Centre, we also offer spacious indoor and outdoor areas. These provides young children with the opportunity to freely develop at their own pace.
Toddlers—2 to 3 years
The toddler room is designed for children to learn and develop. At this age a child’s independence really starts to develop, and they want to try everything with a little help needed along the way.
At Little Grommets Early Learning Centre, we have the time and space for all children to develop at their own pace. From toilet training, to getting dressed themselves, we provide an environment that supports children to grow in all areas of development.
Kindy—3 to 4 years
Our Kindy environment continues to foster children’s autonomy.
Kids here can choose where and what they play with. The educational program is designed around their interests and learning activities, with a high focus on play.
Pre-school—4 to 5 years
At this age, we encourage children to be more autonomous and independent. We work with them to help develop the skills necessary for the next step into fulltime school.
Our key focus is social and emotional development, with literacy and numeracy integrated through play-based experiences.
Children’s voices and ideas are respected, and we work with them to develop the educational program. We aim to provide children with the skills necessary for school, and also the skills necessary for life.
As the name suggests, play-based learning programs are designed for kids to learn through play. At Little Grommets Early Learning Centre, we use indoor and outdoor environments to provide endless opportunities for each child to learn and develop.
Children play as a way of organising and making sense of their world. It promotes their ability to actively engage and interact with people and objects.
Through play-based learning in our indoor and outdoor areas, children will learn to:
- Understand & control emotions
- Take turns
- Negotiate with peers
- Solve problems
- Cope with disappointment
- Build creativity & imagination
- Develop language, mathematical & cognitive skills
Our educators provide a quality play experience to create a physical environment where children are encouraged to explore, learn and question.
Little Grommets Early Learning Centre educators establish and maintain warm, trusting and secure relationships with children to support their decisions and risk-taking.
We offer equal times for free play and intentional teaching to extend children’s learning. Children are also given adequate time to develop their own interests and ideas.
